Community Support Needed to Provide Holiday Meals to 4,000 Local Families |
Boca Helping Hands is calling on the community to support its 21st annual Thanksgiving Box Brigade, aiming to provide holiday meals to 4,000 families in need.
With one in nine residents in Palm Beach County facing food insecurity, the organization emphasizes the growing need for assistance.
Each Thanksgiving box includes a turkey and all the traditional fixings, offering families the opportunity to enjoy a festive meal together.
Community members can contribute by donating $29.72, the cost of a complete meal box, or by volunteering to help with distribution.
Drive-thru distributions are scheduled for November 22 and 23 at five locations: east Boca Raton, west Boca, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and Lake Worth.
Andrew Hagen, Executive Director of Boca Helping Hands, expressed gratitude for the community's ongoing support, noting that it enables families to share a holiday meal they might otherwise miss.
