Traffic Violation Leads to Drug Possession Arrest on Glades Road |
In the early hours of Tuesday, a routine traffic stop on Glades Road led to the arrest of Robert Mike Autuori, 42, on multiple charges, including felony drug possession.
A Boca Raton Police Crime Suppression Officer observed a black 2016 Subaru Impreza exceeding the speed limit, clocking 60 mph in a 45 mph zone near the 1000 block of West Glades Road.
The vehicle was pulled over near 1950 West Glades Road.
Upon reviewing Autuori's records, officers discovered his driver's license had been indefinitely suspended earlier this year due to financial responsibility issues.
Additionally, he was on probation for a prior controlled substance offense, with conditions explicitly prohibiting him from driving or possessing illegal drugs.
During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers found two white pills wrapped in a napkin between the front passenger seat and the center console.
The pills were identified as Alprazolam, commonly known as Xanax.
Autuori admitted the pills were anti-anxiety medication for which he did not have a valid prescription.
He was subsequently charged with possession of Alprazolam, driving with a suspended license, and violation of probation.
Autuori was processed at the Boca Raton Police Department and later booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
This incident underscores the importance of adhering to traffic laws and the potential consequences of violating probation terms.
Residents are reminded to ensure their driving privileges are valid and to seek proper medical channels for prescription medications.
