Boca Raton Wealth Manager Arrested for DUI in Maserati After Birthday Celebration |
Local resident faces charges following late-night incident involving luxury vehicle and alcohol consumption |
Kelly Ann Boyle, a 41-year-old wealth manager from Highland Beach, was arrested early Saturday morning in Boca Raton.
Police discovered her unconscious behind the wheel of her blue Maserati near 100 West Palmetto Park Road just after midnight.
The vehicle was still running and in gear when officers approached.
Upon awakening, Boyle appeared disoriented and admitted to celebrating her birthday with friends at a local restaurant, consuming "a few drinks," including mango margaritas and wine.
Officers noted her bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and the odor of alcohol.
She refused to perform Field Sobriety Exercises and became irate, demanding to go home.
When officers attempted to arrest her for Driving Under the Influence (DUI), she resisted by tensing her arms and pulling away, leading to an additional charge of Resisting an Officer Without Violence.
At the Boca Raton Police Department's booking facility, Boyle consented to a breath test, yielding results of 0.109 and 0.108, both exceeding Florida's legal limit of 0.08.
She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on a $2,000 bond.
Her court date is set for mid-December.
This incident underscores the importance of responsible drinking and the potential consequences of impaired driving.
Residents are reminded to plan ahead and utilize alternative transportation options if they intend to consume alcohol. |
