FAU Honors Craig Zinn as Business Leader of the Year

Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business recently honored Craig Zinn, a distinguished automotive entrepreneur and philanthropist, as its 31st “Business Leader of the Year.”

 

The ceremony, held at Boca West Country Club, attracted hundreds of attendees who gathered to celebrate Zinn’s innovative leadership and unwavering dedication to the South Florida community.

 

Reflecting on his guiding principles, Zinn remarked, “One rule I’ve always followed is simple: do the right thing. It’s not just about being a good businessman; it’s about being a good man in business.”

 

With over 40 years in the automotive industry, Zinn’s journey began in 1980 when he purchased his first dealership. His hands-on experience, from detailing cars to managing parts and inventory, laid the foundation for his success.

 

Today, the Craig Zinn Automotive Group operates several esteemed dealerships across South Florida, including Toyota of Hollywood, Lexus of Pembroke Pines, and Acura of Pembroke Pines. The group is renowned for its commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

 

Beyond his business achievements, Zinn is deeply committed to philanthropy. He supports local charities such as the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and the American Cancer Society. Notably, his $2 million donation to the Cleveland Clinic established the Craig M. Zinn Concierge Medicine Suite in Weston.

 

Daniel Gropper, Ph.D., dean of FAU’s College of Business, praised Zinn, stating, “Craig demonstrates characteristics we celebrate and hold up as an example for our students: integrity, an entrepreneurial spirit, service excellence, and support of his community.”

 

Since 1991, FAU’s College of Business has recognized outstanding leaders through the Business Leader of the Year award. Past honorees include George Schaeffer, Keith Koenig, and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.
